MATChE Attended the WCEF 2017

MATChE attended the first World Circular Economy Forum 2017 (WCEF2017) in Helsinki hosted by Sitra. 1,500 people from 105 countries were gathered to set a shared agenda to tackle the climate crisis.

The energy and intensity was high. People were smiling and their body language and optimistic discussion expressed ‘We can do this together!”.

The MATChE programme was present at this enormous event and leveraged the opportunity to reach out to business leaders, researchers, policy makers and thinkers. Daniela Pigosso and Tim McAloone even got the chance to pitch the project on stage resulting in positive interest from companies.

A packed programme with speakers, workshops, networking gatherings and partnership speed dating events culminated into a grand final wrapping all inspiration into 10 Key Takeaways – in the visual shape of floating fruits.

Fruit number 10 was left ‘open’ – up for the audience to decide. What do you think is needed in the transitions towards circular economy?
